Ausgabe zur AMB 2018

Ausg.Nr._16/2018 5 AMB 2018 G erman and interna- tional metal-cutting ex- perts will meet at AMB in Stuttgart from 18 to 22 Sep- tember 2018. More than 1,500 exhibitors will present their de- velopments and innovations on a gross exhibition area of more than 120,000 square metres. There is also every indication that AMB 2018 will be the biggest AMB ever. "With the new Paul Horn Hall, the special AMB show "Digital Way" and the related Congress, we have created ideal conditions to make AMB 2018 even larger and better," said Ul- rich Kromer von Baerle, CEO of Messe Stuttgart. More exhibition space, more innovations, more contacts In the past all the capacities of the trade fair grounds were exhausted. This won't change either in 2018 despite an increase in the amount of exhibition space. "An additional 15,000 square metres will be avail- able in the new Paul Horn Hall. We will therefore be able to satisfy the demand by exhibitors and also make the event more attractive for visitors by presenting even more products and innovations," added Kromer. The increase in the amount of exhibition space will also op- timise the distribution of AMB 2018. The topics in the exhibition areas will be restructured: machin- ing tools and chucking tools will be presented in the L-Bank Forum (Hall 1) and Hall 3. Hall 4 and Os- kar Lapp Hall (Hall 6) will focus on lathes and automatic lathes. Hall 5 will feature grindingmachines, tool grinding machines and everything relating to them. Alfred Kärcher Hall (Hall 8) will present the inno- vations in sawing and cutting-off grinding machines, surface tech- nology, marking systems, harden- ing and heating machines, lubri- cation and cooling, and safety and environmental engineering. Hall 7, Hall 9 and the new Paul Horn Hall (Hall 10) will round off the exhibi- tion programme with milling ma- chines, metal-removing process machine tools, measuring systems and quality assurance, as well as flexible production cells/systems, machining centres, gear cutting machines and drilling machines. Suppliers of control and drive sys- tems, CAD/CAM/CAE and produc- tion software will also be found fromnowon directly at the Entrance East and in Hall 2 at the entrance to the trade fair grounds. AMB special show "Digital Way" and Congress During the première of the special show "Digital Way“ and the associ- ated two-day Congress, AMB in September will demonstrate ways in which industrial enter- prises can increase the potential of digitalisation by means of the latest information technology. The objective is to use AMB, as a platform for providers and users, as orientation which shows how the demands for higher sales and cost savings can be fulfilled, espe- cially through increased employee productivity and greater machine efficiency. Gunnar Mey, Depart- ment Director Industry at Messe Stuttgart, clarified: "Companies want to know how Industry 4.0 and digitalisation can be implemented in production. What providers have already successfully carried out projects? What applications or models are available and are rel- evant to the respective company? We will bring together solution- oriented offers and demand dur- ing the special show "Digital Way" at AMB 2018." Boom phase continuing in 2018 While in au- tumn in even years manu- facturers pre- sent their innovations for North America in Chicago and for Asia in Tokyo, AMB in Stuttgart is the most important marketplace for Europe. Every world leader in metal cutting will also again be present at AMB 2018 in Stuttgart while visitors will be able to experience hundreds of machines live in operation. The good news is that the economy couldn't be better. Important sales markets in Europe are currently in a boom phase. Economic experts are predicting that gross domestic product in Germany and the euro- zone will rise by 2.2 per cent and 2.3 per cent respectively in 2018. "Exhibitors have confirmed to us that the capacities in industry are currently running at the high- est level since 2008. Now would be the right time to make neces- sary investments. AMB provides a unique platform in this respect since exhibitors present the lat- est state of the art here and show what is now possible in regard to digitalisation in production," add- ed Gunnar Mey. Around 90,000 international trade visitors and 1,500 exhibi- tors are expected to attend AMB in Stuttgart from 18 to 22 Sep- tember 2018. On an exhibition area of more than 120,000 square metres, the exhibitors will show- case innovations and further de- velopments for metal-cutting and metal-removing process machine tools, precision tools, measuring systems and quality assurance, robots, workpiece and tool han- dling, industrial software & engi- neering, components, assemblies and accessories.  Text & Image: Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH Messepiazza 1 D-70629 Stuttgart The heart of metal working beats in Stuttgart 18.–22.09.2018 Live auf der AMB 2018 Halle 3, Stand D77 Digital Way, Stand DW128 06476-de-41x41.indd 2 30.08.2018 15:05:16
