Ausgabe zur IAA 2018

Ausg.Nr._17/2018 5 IAA Nutzfahrzeuge 2018 IAA Nutzfahrzeuge 2018: A wide variety of vehicles – including 36 electric vehicles – are waiting to be test driven by visitors to the IAA 20.–27.09.2018 T he 67th IAA Commercial Vehicles starting on 20 September in Hannover offers visitors diversified test-dri- ving opportunities and a chance to experience for themselves how fast electric mobility is advan- cing. At this year's IAA Commer- cial Vehicles, for the first time, as many electric commercial ve- hicles are available for test drives as commercial vehicles with con- ventional powertrains – twice as many as at the IAA 2016. E-transporters are moving forward on all fronts. At their stands, German and interna- tional transporter manufactur- ers are exhibiting battery elec- tric vans which are now going into series or are already on the market. However, electric mo- bility is not confined to trans- porters; increasingly, busses and heavy trucks are also be- ing electrified. For this reason, a total of 36 electric commer- cial vehicles are available for test drives on the CC grounds: 23 light and 13 heavy vehicles. About 20 companies are partici- pating – including commercial vehicle manufacturers such as Daimler, Iveco Magirus, MAN, Nissan and Renault. In ad- dition, automotive suppliers such as Voith, BPW Bergische Achsen and ZF Friedrichshafen are presenting their newest de- velopments and innovations in especially equipped test vehi- cles. Krone, Libner, Sevic Sys- tems, SAIC Mobility Europe and start-ups such as Urban Arrow und StreetScooter are exhibit- ing their solutions for the "last mile": cargo bicycles and elec- tric mini-transporters inviting visitors to "move up the mobil- ity ladder." The test circuit for electric vehi- cles starts on the Platz der Na- tionen west of Hall 9 in the south- ern part of the CC grounds. Test drivers can take the vehi- cle models with conventional powertrains into city traffic. An expert will accompany each driver to answer questions and give professional advice. Truck drivers, bus drivers and anyone thinking of expanding his or her vehicle fleet have a chance to gain practical experience with the desired model or to inten- sively test a commercial vehicle with the latest powertrain gen- eration. The companies Ford, Iveco Magi- rus, MAN, Scania and Nissan are offering a total of 36 highly ef- ficient models with conventional power trains for test drives. Continental is making its latest developments available for test- ing. Visitors to the IAA planning their next vacation can try out three touring coaches at Van Hool Bus and Coach. Test drives of the conventional models start on the CC grounds west of Hall 27, right next to the West 1 En- trance. Test drives are offered on all days of the IAA and are free for IAA visi- tors. They can be scheduled from 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Sept 19, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and 16:15 – 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 20, and from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 21 – 27. Vehicles with con- ventional powertrains can be test driven from 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 19 and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 20 – 27. It is recommended that you re- serve a test drive in advance. Test drives can only be booked with the individual companies at the IAA. Visitors interested in test drives must present a valid identity card and a driving license for the appropriate vehi- cle class.
