September 2018 in Berlin D ie Bahn ist nicht nur ein vielseitiger und leistungsfähiger Ver- kehrsträger, mit ihrem hohen Anteil erneuerbarer Energien gilt sie auch als Vorreiterin ei- ner klimaneutralen, elektrischen Mobilität. Die vom 18. bis 21. September 2018 stattfindende InnoTrans wird erneut Spiegel dieser Leistungskraft. Ein gutes halbes Jahr vor Ausstellungsbe- ginn konnte die internationale Leitmesse für Verkehrstechnik eine enorme Nachfrage vermel- den: Das Berliner Messegelände ist weit überbucht. Das gab es noch nie. Zur InnoTrans 2018 sind rund 100 Hauptaussteller mehr als bei der InnoTrans vor zwei Jahren angemeldet und die Warteliste umfasst derzeit rund 5.000 m². 224 Unternehmen stellen dieses Jahr erstmalig in Berlin aus. Die hohe Nachfrage zeigt, wie sehr die Weltleitmesse den Nerv der globalen Branche trifft. Die Messe kann mit über 60 Prozent Inter- nationalität aufwarten, darunter erstmalig eine Beteiligung aus Neuseeland. Umder hohenNachfrage entgegen- zukommen, baut die Messe Berlin gerade eine neue Halle „hub27“, die rund 10.000 m² groß sein wird. Die Halle kann von der InnoTrans aber erst in 2020 für die Vermie- tung genutzt werden. Dadurch ver- ringert sich allerdings in 2018 die Freigeländefläche drastisch. Einige Aussteller planen mittler- weile zwei- oder dreigeschossige Präsentationen, um mehr Fläche nutzen zu können. Die Catering- bereiche sind bereits nach außen verlagert worden und die Gänge auf das zulässige Mindestmaß re- duziert. In den kommenden zwei Monaten wird sich herausstellen, ob alle Anfragen bedient werden können. Demand outstrips capacity at InnoTrans 2018 by around 5,000m² A t InnoTrans 2018 around 100 more main exhibi- tors have registered compared to the previous event, and the current waiting list is for approximately 5,000 m² of floor space. This year, 224 companies will be exhibiting for the first time in Berlin. The high level of demand is proof that the world’s leading transport trade fair offers exactly what the industry needs. More than 60 per cent of exhibi- tors are from abroad, including from New Zealand, which will be represented for the first time. In order to satisfy the high demand Messe Berlin is building a new hall (hub27) which will occupy around 10,000 m². However, this hall will not be ready for InnoTrans rent- als before 2020. Therefor 2018 it means a drastic reduction of the Outdoor Display. At the same time, InnoTrans is making every effort to satisfy exhibitors’ wishes by opti- mising available space. Rail track capacity will not be affected by the new building. 2018 begins with a big challenge for the InnoTrans team, that of creating enough floor space, and thus booths, for as many inter- ested exhibitors as possible. Some exhibitors are even planning two or three-storey booths to make the best possible use of their available space. The catering areas have al- ready been moved outdoors and the aisles have been reduced to the minimum permissible width.
